About us

History

In 1999, Institute For Innovative Trading AG (IFIT) launched the first online marketplace for electronic IPOs in Switzerland, then still under the former name Capital-Info.Net AG (CIN). Affected by the downturn of stock markets in early 2000, the flow of private equity to smaller firms shrank dramatically, so CIN started licensing its proprietary trading systems to regulated financial institutions.

In 2003, CIN became a technology partner in a joint venture set up for the development and operation of an options-based arbitrage system. In 2005, after successful tests of the new trading software, CIN formed a specialized asset management subsidiary, IFIT Advisory AG (IFIT Advisory). IFIT Advisory uses trading systems developed by IFIT Institute. IFIT Advisory offers asset management service based on automated trading systems to high net worth individuals and institutional investors.

In 2006, CIN was renamed IFIT Institute For Innovative Trading AG in order to better reflect its new core business.

In 2007, IFIT acquired a majoritiy stake in Fund Advisers Admin AG (FAA). Since 2009 the alternative fund services provided by FAA have been fully integrated in IFIT.

In 2009 IFIT formally launched its Hedge Fund Habitat, pulling together what it had been doing for a number of years: providing the framework for managers and traders to efficiently go independent — i.e. to establish and bring hedge fund products to market — and to manage their own funds in a professional and state-of-the-art trading environment.
